Nature walks in the wilderness, be part of the living landscape

To experience the true thrill and visual splendour of an authentic African safari, why not follow in the footsteps of the pioneers and venture into the wilderness on foot. Not only will you perceive the wilderness from the perspective of the wildlife, but you can also sample its sounds, scents and calls. What is more, so abundantly populated is the conservancy that every walk offers the opportunity for sightings of elephants, lions, rhinos and hippos as well as plentiful sightings of giraffes, zebras, gazelles, warthogs and buffalos. Every walk is guided by a professional naturalist and guarded by an armed ranger. Children above 7-years are welcome.

Timings: Walks take place 7 am to 8.00 am or 5 pm to 6 pm.

A bird's eye view

Specialist ornithological tours, the ‘birders' special

A protected sanctuary with a diversity of habitats, the Conservancy plays host to 220 species of birds while experts report sightings of up to 60 species in one day. Best viewed in the cool of the day, bird walks usually commence at 4 pm.

For the serious ornithologist, we also offer a range of half- or full-day outings which can be custom-tailored to the interests of your ornithological party. The services of a professional ornithologist and up-to-date bird checklists are included and picnics, bush lunches, camp suppers and sundowners can be scheduled to suit your needs.

Timings: The bird walk sets off at 4 pm daily.
