The camel trek
Somali camels make the ideal trek animal in this exceptionally harsh and dry landscape. Brought down from Somalia by their owner handlers, the camels are provided with comfortable saddles and holding bars. Easily mounted when the camel kneels, they are then led by their Samburu guides along the Ewaso Nyiro River allowing guests to enjoy an utterly unique game-viewing and bird-spotting opportunity. The trek takes around an hour (sunscreen, sunglasses and sun hats necessary).
