Serena Hotels was last year’s winner of the coveted “Best Hospitality, Travel and Tourism in Africa” Award. The exclusive African Business Awards was held on 7 June 2012, at Grosvenor House in London.
Now in its fifth year, the African Business Awards is the key annual event for the African Business World and is much sort after by Africa's leading companies and entrepreneurs. Organized by African Business Magazine (ABM), and the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC), the African Business Awards has become a platform to celebrate excellence and best practices in African business and recognizes those who have driven Africa's rapidly transforming economy- under which Serena Hotels was seen to have undoubtedly contributed.

Kigali Serena Hotel
Kigali Serena Hotel was the winner of the prestigious World Travel Awards 2012-2013 as Rwanda’s Leading Hotel. Now in its 19th year, the announcement was made on 20th September from London via the World Travel Awards website, after voting by tour operators and travel agents worldwide.
Kigali Serena Hotel was recognized by International Hotel Awards 2011- 2012 as Rwanda’s Leading Hotel, done in association with Bloomberg Television. The International Hotel Awards listed Kigali Serena Hotel as one of the World’s Best Hotels in 2011- 2012.
Awarded RDB Investor of the Year Awards, in the hotel and hospitality category on behalf of Serena Hotels for the planned investment in Rwanda- Kinigi Northern Province

At the RDB Yearly Performance Awards, TPS (R) was awarded the following:
- Overall Winner in the Hospitality category
- Runners up in the Best Investor of the Year
- 2nd place in the Best Customer service category
APHIA11 coast project -Wellness Champions Awards
- Serena Beach Hotel Received Gold award
Tanzania Society of Travel Agents (TASOTA) Awards
Zanzibar Serena Inn was awarded the TASOTA Award for the Best Tourist Hotel/ Hotel Chain on the Safari Circuit.
Kenya Tourism Awards 2011
Serena Hotels won the award for the Best Levy Payer in the Accommodation Category.
Magazine - Wine Spectator
The Wine List from Delagoa Restaurant at the Polana Serena Hotel was granted the “Award of Excellence” by the magazine Wine Spectator, for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.
