Drawn up on the shoreline, just yards away from the breaking waves, and built to resemble a traditional Swahili dhow - complete with sanded decks, painted prow, roped capstans, lashed sails and kanga-decked tables, the Jahazi Grill specialises in stunning extravaganzas of fresh-caught seafood. Choices include: crab, squid, lobster, prawns and a wide variety of sea fish. Vegetarian and non-fish options are also available. Restaurant information: Swahili themed Restaurant. Champagne Breakfast is opened from 0700 hrs to 1000 hrs. Serves both Champagne and non Alcoholic sparkling wine at no extra cost to guests inhouse during breakfast but upon request. Buffet lunch from 1230 hrs to 1430 hrs. Buffet dinner only on Tuesdays and Fridays, the rest of the other days, set menus. Dinner served from 1930 hrs to 2130hrs. Dressing code: strictly smart casual for the gents, no shorts or sleevless shirts allowed in the restaurant during dinner. For the ladies,it is decent wear. Smoking and Non-smoking area in the restaurant. Cooled by a gentle ocean breeze and clustered around the hanging blossoms. The cuisine, which features internationally themed menus and lavish buffets, also draws on a strong Swahili influence to introduce an abundance of tropical fruits, exotic spices, coconuts, limes, coriander and fresh-caught seafood to the colourful choice of dishes. Lunch from 1230 hrs to 1500 hrs Dinner served from 1930 hrs to 2200hrs. You need to make dinner reservations prior to dinning. Guests inhouse are booked on HB or FB get a 600 shilllings credit if they dine there. The bustling Sokoni plaza is designed to resemble the colourful marketplace of a traditional Swahili town and features an ornamental fishpond, fluttering Arabian sunshades and a palm-thatched dining area offering fresh-baked pizzas and a wide range of international snacks. Restaurant information: Open from 1130 hrs to 1830 hrs. Italian Oriented Restaurant. "A la Carte" basis. Serves children inhouse with an early dinner as from 1830 hrs. Serves both Lunch and Exotic cocktails in the evenings. It is the peak of entertainment in the evenings for the guests whereby we have local artists who come to entertain the guests in the evening. The internationally designed piano bar features live piano music, a sophisticated cocktail line up and generous open-air terraces where guests may recline on cushioned benches as they trace the path of the moon across the ocean. Bar information: Speciality bar open from 1000hrs to 1700 hrs. Self service bar which serves tea and coffee throughout the day. Serves pastries from 1600 hrs to 1700 hrs at an extra charge. Every friday at 1600 hrs,there is a Lamu market where the local designers and artists come to entertain the guests, assemble, display and sell different artifacts at various prices. The breeze wafted Nyota terrace offers a rare glimpse into the traditional Swahili world. A world where veiled maidens sit behind fretwork screens, brass lanterns swing in carved niches, visitors recline on sumptuous sofas and families sip cardamom-flavoured coffee and look down from carved balconies on to the bustle of the square below. Bar information: Operates from 1700 hrs till when the last customer leaves. Serves different kinds of drinks right from soft drinks to exotic non-alcoholic, alcoholic cocktails, beers and spirits. It has a wrap around verandah where by the guests can enjoy the sundowner and a cool breeze in the evening as they enjoy their cocktails.
