‘Sun-downers’ on Observation Hill
The ‘sun-downer' is an essential part of safari life and dates back to the time of the great safaris of the 1920's when the serving of elegant cocktails in the bush always preceded the glorious spectacle of the African sunset. Timed to commence as the sun starts its descent, the Amboseli Serena sun-downer begins with a gentle evening game drive, arriving at Observation Hill just as the evening sky turns golden-pink. Safari chairs will be set up looking towards the mountain. There will also be a full bar service and cocktail snacks. Musical entertainment can also be provided. As night falls, you will be driven back to the lodge in time for dinner (passing the swamps, an ideal time to see hippo OUT of the water). This is an experience not to be missed.
