Scenic Great Rift Valley Safari
Day 1- Depart Nairobi to Lake Elmenteita
0800hrs depart and drive to the Great Rift Valley to the Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy to arrive at the Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp in time for lunch.

This area of breathtaking beauty, also home to many rare species of animals, is less than two hours’ drive from Nairobi. At 1600hrs depart for afternoon game viewing drive in the conservancy.

Day 2 - Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy
Full day in the conservancy with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. You can opt to take an excursion to the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park in the morning.
The park, coloured by a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores, is a popular place with visitors as well as locals. Waterbuck are usually sighted along the lake shore, and this is the home of the Rothschild’s giraffe. Baboon, impala, buffalo, monkeys, warthog, impala, reedbuck and eland are also resident here. However, the main attractions are the rhinos. The park is a designated rhino sanctuary and it is one of the best places in Kenya to observe them. Both black and white Rhinos thrive here. Besides the greater and lesser flamingos, the park is home to many other
species including, the Great crested Grebe, the black necked Grebe, little Grebe, Pelicans, Cormorant, African Darter, Egyptian Geese, night Heron, Fish Eagle, grey Heron, Marabou stork, Sacred and Hadada Ibis.

Day 3 - Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy – Nairobi and onward to Maasai Mara
0800hrs, after breakfast in the Camp depart and drive to Nairobi, arriving in time for an early buffet lunch at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.
1230hrs Transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for your flight departing at 1515hrs to the Maasai Mara game Reserve. On arrival at the Mara Airstrip, you will be met by your Lodge Driver Guide.
Enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive in the reserve. This marks your first encounter with the marvels of nature. Maasai Mara Game Reserve is regarded as one of the most magnificent natural theatre in the world. Set in the heart of Africa’s Great Plains, the Maasai Mara boasts 1,672 square kilometres of unspoilt wilderness.
The reserve is home to all the “big five” and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal. You'll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as - if you're lucky - leopard, cheetah and rhino. You're sure to see the African buffalo. The rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles.

Day 4 - Maasai Mara
Full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives. In the morning, crown your game experience with a “Bush Hippo pool Breakfast” by the Mara River. A 15 minutes drive gets you to a hearty welcome; one cannot resist the charming “Jambo” from the chefs as they welcome you to our wonderfully set breakfast buffer of hot dishes made to your specifications as you wait. The hippos keep you company and only say “Kwaheri” after you have had enough.
All meals and Overnight at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge
Day 5 - Maasai Mara- Nairobi
Breakfast in the lodge, transfer to the Mara Serena Airstrip for your schedule flight to Nairobi departing at 1015hrs to arrive in Nairobi at 1145hrs. On arrival at Wilson Airport Nairobi, you will be met by a Serena Representative and transfer to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your schedule home bound flight.

- Ground transportation in a 4x4WD Custom Safari Cruiser on exclusive basis with services of English speaking driver guide to Lake Elmenteita and “seat in vehicle” basis in Maasai Mara.

RESERVATIONS
Serena Hotels requires full payment of the total tour cost upon confirmation of the safari to safeguard the reservation.

Tour cost are based on all known costs and rates of exchange at the 28th October 2011, any significant changes beyond the control of Serena Hotels will be passed on to clients. Serena Hotels also retain the right to alter any arrangements due to local conditions. Serena Hotels also retains the right to refuse any person from participating or continuing any tour for any reason or if that person causes or is deemed to cause hazard and/or inconvenience other passengers.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
VISA PAYMENTS
Visa fees for entry to Kenya will be of US$ 50.00 per person per entry (a mount may vary depending on Nationality).
CURRENCY:
These vary tremendously from country to country. Traveller cheques and foreign currency must be changed at the bank, hotel, or safari lodge. Most countries will accept any traveler’s cheques when making payment of service or goods. The Kenya Shillings (Kshs) is Kenya Currency
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or holdall per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local bottled mineral water.
HEALTH
Remember to take your Malaria medication and protect yourself from sun with sunscreen or safari hat.
