Hanna Lake

It is a natural Lake 15 Km from Quetta. The greenish-blue calm waters of the lake provide a rich contrast to the sandy brown hills in the background. It is an ideal picnic spot for fun and entertainment in Quetta.

Urak Valley

The Urak valley is 25 Km from Quetta city. The road on both sides is lined with wild flowers and fruit orchids. Peaches, plums, apricots and apples of many varieties are grown in the valley. The waterfall at the end of the urak valley is surrounded by the apple and apricot orchids.

Hazarganji National park

Located about 20Km southwest of Quetta, the hazarganji (meaning thousand treasures) national park was established in 1980. The intention was to effectively preserve the habitat of the chiltan Markhor a wild goat species endemic to that region. Its total area is estimates to be 27,421 hectares. Besides the Markhor other mammals like common red fox. The Asiatic Jackal, Indian crested porcupine and many bird species can be seen in its natural surroundings. There is a small National history Museum in the park which has various dry flowers and stuffed animals.

Ziarat Valley

Lovely holiday hill resort of Ziarat stands amidst one of the largest & oldest Juniper forest in the world. A visit to Quetta would be incomplete without a trip to Ziarat. 130 Km from Quetta (3 hours by car) Ziarat is at an altitude of 8000 feet. It is famous for its apples, black cherry and almond trees. Quaid Residency, Chutair Tangi, Sandaman tangi, Fern tangi and Kharwari Baba are interesting spots in Ziarat. The Juniper forest itself is wonder to see. One of the oldest forest in the world, the oldest trees are recorded to be over 5000 years old.

Pir Ghaib

At a distance of 70 Km from Quetta on Sibi road lies a popular picnic spot called Pir Ghaib. Here the waterfall cascades down the rocky mountain side making its way through many streams and ponds along shady palms. You would require a 4-wheel drive to reach the spot from main road.

Khajoori

An Oasis in the desert with water surrounded by Palm trees and farmlands at the bed of the mountains range, easily approachable by a well carpeted road. The route takes you through the turning and winding famous Bolan Pass with many coal mines located on the way, with water rattling through different sized pebbles and stones, in its way, gives peace and serenity. This is an ideal spot for a daylong picnic with friends and family.

Zarghoon

Zarghoon is a lovely hill resort located 24 Km east north of Quetta. It forms the Brahvi mountain range. Its highest peak is called Loe-sar (11,738 feet) and Kuchnai sar (11,440 feet) are covered with dense forest. Tor shor is the most picturesque valley of the area.

Bolan Pass

Famous for sightseeing and adventure. The train journey through the mountains lets one experience the historical past. Ancient invaders and traders used this route alike. A stop at Kolpur is a must, where the bazaars have remained the same for centuries. The train passes through 21 tunnels.
