Samburu sundowners
The ‘sun-downer' is an essential part of safari life and dates back to the time of the great safaris of the 1920's, all of which featured the serving of elegant ‘bush' cocktails while watching the glorious spectacle of the African sunset. Timed to commence as the sun starts its descent, the Samburu Serena sun-downer begins with a gentle evening game drive, arriving at your scenic location just as the evening sky turns golden-pink. We have a number of favourite sun-downer venues, one of which overlooks the volcanic hills bordering Somalia; another which is on the raised banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Typically, the sun-downer event will feature a campfire, hurricane lamps and a bush bar with cocktail snacks. Musical entertainment can also be provided. As night falls, you will be driven back to the lodge in time for dinner. This is an experience not to be missed.
