Chinese Graveyard

The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is the greatest wonder of modern Pakistan. It connects Pakistan to China, twisting through the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush mountain ranges. The highway, is an incredible feat of engineering, and gives way to monuments that tribute the 810 Pakistani and 82 Chinese who died forcing a road through one of the world’s most difficult and unstable terrain. The highway was a completed in 1978 and took 20 years to build, with 15,000 Pakistanis and 30,000 Chinese taking part in the process.
