The hotel and location is superb. The friendly and professional staff do everything to make a stay at the Serena extra special and memorable. Breakfast choices are impressive and food in the restaurants excellent. Definitely deserves 5* and more. I have already booked for a return visit in 2024.

This is our second stay at the Serena hotel - it is proof that the hotel is very good. Nice, clean room, large bed. The bathroom is beautiful and clean, with fresh towels every day. great, professional service. everyone is great. Very good food!!!! A swimming pool immersed in greenery and a view of the ocean, what else could you want?!?! We recommend!!!!

We stayed just one night at this lovely hotel, the hotel is a beautiful historical building the decor is in keeping with the old building, which was lovely
The hotel is in the centre of Stone Town so everything is close by
Our room was on the 3rd floor as there are no lifts the porters kindly carried our bags which was much appreciated
All the staff we came across were professional and friendly
When we arrived we were given a nice drink and then shown to our room, the room was quiet small but absolutely fine for us, again bathroom is small but well planned
The four poster bed was nice and comfortable , all rooms have balcony some overlooking the sea / sea and pool
Ours was a side view but it was still nice
We found the breakfast buffet to be excellent, so much to choose from, there’s hot and cold food and an egg station
There is a lovely pool with plenty of sun lounges
Would highly recommend staying in this beautiful hotel

Our stay at the Serena Hotel in Zanzibar was truly delightful. The hotel's historic furnishings and charming ambiance created a unique and pleasant atmosphere. The property was meticulously maintained, and we found it easy to relax with sundowner drinks by the pool while watching the world go by. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and we were particularly impressed by Room 51, which offered an awe-inspiring view.

Notably, the price was quite reasonable for the exceptional experience it provided. The view from the hotel was simply unbelievable, overlooking the sea and granting easy access to the beach. Located right in Stonetown, it was convenient for exploring the area on foot, and we appreciated the easy access to various excursions on this side of the island.

The room was a true gem, featuring a spacious veranda complete with a comfortable hammock. The fantastic air conditioning added to the comfort, and the thoughtful touch of scattered rose petals on the floor and a complimentary bottle of red wine enhanced the experience. Room 51, with its wrap-around veranda, offered a prime location with stunning views of the sea and the pool.

The Serena Zanzibar is simply the most beautiful hotel you can imagine. Set in an idyllic garden, filled with flowers, overlooking the ocean is simply a breathtaking experience. The hotel transports you into a bygone era, with the most beautifully curated antiquities found throughout the hotel. The pool offers a luxurious setting where you can watch the sun set over the ocean. Throughout the day the dhows pass slowly by the hotel. I highly recommend the restaurant. Lobster dinner at the pool is unsurpassed. However, the greatest asset of this hotel remains the staff. A big call out to Rabia at the front desk for making our stay extraordinary. Nothing is too much for the staff. They display such professionalism and finesse. The hotel is well located in the centre of the old city with everything in walking distance. The rooms are the best in Stone Town with direct immediate views of the ocean. I highly recommend the Premier Rooms with a wraparound balcony. Ask for room 37, the best in the hotel. If you want to treat yourself to a once in a lifetime experience, I recommend you stay here at least once. You will never regret it.
