Great Location. Lovely Lodge

Stopped here for one night as part of a week long safari. The standard rooms are in two long rows and we were located in room 10. We arrived for lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. The rooms here are lovely, each individually decorated in traditional colours with painted animals on the walls. There was plenty of storage space but like most, we were only here for one night. I would have like another but we were part of a week long safari tour and another lodge beckoned the following day. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing that didn't work well was the location of the fan, it was too far away from the bed to give any relief from the heat. We did have small USB fans which can be used with a power bank or via a plug with USB sections, so they provided some relief from the heat. The sockets in the room are same as the UK (although the sockets can accommodate other sizes but I cannot confirm what these are - you can see them on the picture of the bed). The door to the outside patio area is made of mesh (not glass). You also need to make sure the door is locked as the monkeys can and will make their way in. The Wi-Fi was good enough for our requirements. Staff were always visible and very helpful should you have any queries or problems. Dinner and breakfast times were much quieter than the previous 2 lodges. For breakfast, if you require toast, you need to ask for it - there is no toaster. Tea and coffee are also delivered to your table. The location of this lodge would be hard to beat and the views are great, especially if animals make an appearance. Outside our room, there were loads of vervet monkeys. We also had banded mongoose later in the day.

A magical stay from start to finish...

A magical stay from start to finish. This intimate lodge offers breathtaking views over the savanna — we watched elephants and antelopes from our private terrace. The atmosphere is peaceful, the rooms beautifully designed, and the service warm and attentive. A truly special place to reconnect with nature in comfort and style.

Just wonderful

Without a doubt the most tastefully decorated though modernised lodge we’ve stayed in. The rooms are spacious (we’re in a triple and weren’t at all cramped), the bar and restaurant are wonderful overlooking the plains and we enjoyed the pool. For my coeliac daughter, the chef, Richard, came and talked us through the menu and offered to cook her something specially. There were lots of great options and we felt very secure that he understood her requirements. A wonderful stay, we wished we were there longer!

Exceptional staff. Outstanding location.

I spent 8 years in Kenya and this Safari Lodge is the ONE I’d recommend every day of the week. Exceptional staff. Outstanding location (especially when you can hear the lions calling out in the middle of the night). And certainly wildlife you dream of seeing and photographing and viewing in their natural environment.

Amboseli at its best

A wonderful lodge with great view on the Kilimandscharo. The rooms was stylisch and pur African style. The people who take care of the visitors are extremely friendly and professionell, especically Jaqueline (rest manager) and Patricia (hostess). Will be back again soon.

Authentic Kenyan style

The facilities were somewhat dated, as noted by other guests, but they reflect an authentic Kenyan style that adds to the charm of the place. The food and service were both very good, and the surrounding scenery was lovely, and having dinner while an elephant wandered by was a truly memorable. A special mention goes to the local Maasai staff around the hotel — not only were they there to keep the monkeys at bay, but they were also extremely friendly and genuinely enjoyable to talk to. Their presence added a unique and personal touch to the overall experience. All in all, the value for money was very good.
