Great start to our safari trip

We arrived early and were delighted to be welcomed to our rooms upon arrival. A gardener/naturalist named Pray (sp?) provided a very informative walk though the beautiful landscaping, the kitchen gardens, and the edge of Lake Duluti, describing and explaining the flora and fauna (especially birds). Enjoyed the food at the restaurant and the rooms were very comfortable and quiet.

Fantastic hotel with an Excellent Nature Guide

We have had a great stay at Arusha Serena Hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. All staff are so friendly and the food was excellent We went on a nature walk around Lake Duluti with Nature Guide PrayGod who is also a Gardener at the hotel. He was a fantastic guide and full of so much knowledge about all the birds, trees and environment. We learnt so much from him and thoroughly enjoyed our walk. He also took some time to sit with us at the hotel once we were back to write down the names of all the birds that we saw which came to 24! Thank you PrayGod for a great morning walk!

Ask for Pray for nature tour at Arusha Serena Hotel.

Pray is one of the gardeners at Arusha Serena Hotel in Tanzania, Africa. Pray lead us on an excellent tour of the grounds of the Arusha Serena Hotel. His knowledge is extensive of the plants, flowers, trees and wildlife of Tanzania. Pray had a desire to advance his career as a conservation specialist in Tanzania. He taught us so much about Tanzania.

Pre Safari

We found this a perfect, beautiful place to enjoy our 4 days pre safari. The hotel is safe and friendly with exceptional employees. We hired our shuttle driver from the airport to take us into Arusha, which we knew little about. There he took perfect care of us, He took us to the Tanzanite Experience (informative and interesting with no high pressure sales), the Art Gallery and Cultural Center (a must where you could spend a couple days), and an authentic local American barbecue for lunch which is what we specifically asked for. Delicious grilled fish, chicken, lamb, fish, plantains, flatbread, salad a vegetables. We felt like the hotel was totally committed to guest safety and satisfaction. The grounds are beautiful and food was great… both the dinner menu and à la cart menu. Would most definitely return here.

Great stopping point between safari and Arusha!

The hotel is lovely as well as the view of the pool and the lake from my room. The best part for me was the Serena Experience Journey 2 hour scrub, massage, and facial at the spa with Christina! Exceptional and well priced. Nice to have a little luxury after a few weeks in the bush!

A wonderful start for our journey in Tanzania

We spent our first day in Tanzania at this hotel before heading to our safari destination, and we were very lucky to start our trip there. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent. The buffet was also good and varied. One of the highlights was the wonderful, spacious garden with beautiful trees and swings — the kids had so much fun playing there! A big shout-out to Julia, Eliamani, and Ayrin, who were incredibly kind and attentive to our needs.
