Danyore Valley is home to the dramatic Beranu Suspension Bridge and an old tunnel built entirely by local hands, showcasing remarkable ingenuity. Roughly an hour’s drive from Gilgit, Bagrote Valley enchants visitors with alpine meadows, sparkling lakes, and towering snow-clad peaks. A haven for trekkers and nature lovers, the valley also provides access to Haramosh Peak and offers a window into the traditional life of the mountain communities.
This short yet rewarding trek stretches over 3.4 kilometers and gains an elevation of 5,060 feet, giving trekkers a panoramic view of Gilgit city and the surrounding mountains. It’s an accessible route for those wanting to experience the thrill of high-altitude hiking without venturing too far from the city.
Located just 3 kilometers from Gilgit city, Jutial Nullah is a serene valley perfect for a short getaway. With options for both light trekking and scenic drives, it’s an excellent spot for those looking to immerse themselves in nature without straying too far from town.
A short 45-minute walk from Gilgit Serena Hotel brings you to the historic Shikari monument, built nearly 700 years ago. Standing 21 feet tall and 14 feet wide, this structure commemorates the victory of Taj Ud Din Mughal, an Ismaili ruler from Badakhshan, and is one of the oldest surviving monuments in the region.
