Magical Kenya Bush & Beach Adventure

Magical place to stay, great atmosphere. You don’t need to go on a game drive to see animals, just relax at the lodge on the huge veranda overlooking the waterhole. During our two day visit Feb 18-19 2026 we saw so many beautiful animals visit the waterhole, at all times of the day. The best was the elephants and their babies arriving at sunset on the first day (see video). The second day they didn’t arrive till after dark which was still amazing but harder to see them even though there are lights pointing at the waterhole. The pool, grounds, food and staff were all excellent. The room was very nice. No air conditioning, just a ceiling fan, if you are hot you can request an additional standing fan. You can request a room with a view of the waterhole, second floor would have the best view. You have to pay the park fee directly to the park service USD 80 per person per day on the day you arrive, and on the day you leave and every day you go on a game drive. If you or your guide have not already paid it in advance allow extra time for that. We were able to pay with Visa at the gate, on our way out, going to the train station, took about 15 minutes for processing, and there was no line. The train ride to Mombasa was not that interesting. If I could do it again, I would fly, there is an airstrip near the lodge.

It was the best place in Kenya, we have visited. The view on the lake was so calm and spectaculous. Personal was very polite, the rooms are clean and beautiful. I would come back any time..

Our safari company arranged this stay. Beautiful place in the jungle . Clean rooms and bathrooms Amazing view from the dining and sitting area. The food is pretty good too. Keep in mind there are no ACs . At night it got very hot so we asked for extra fan which they had and sent right away. Excellent place .

Positive: It was incredible looking at elephants, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest and a range of other animals close up from the restaurant and our balcony. It was such a uniquely incredible experience. The buffet was consistently delicious with a good range of vegetarian options. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area is beautiful and it's a good size. The gardens around the lodge are beautiful and relaxing to walk around.

Positive: Great Safari lodge with a waterhole in front of the restaurant that attracted all types of animals from elephants to lions. Great experience. Negative: Nothing.

We had a wonderful stay at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge. The views of the waterhole and wildlife from both the rooms and dining area were stunning, creating a truly serene atmosphere filled with natural sounds. The spa was very relaxing, the food was delicious, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the children’s activities were well organized — our daughters really enjoyed their stay. With its great location, peaceful setting, and excellent value for money, this lodge is highly recommended.
