A must-stay on the Serengeti

The most gorgeous place, excellent staff, we had a perfect stay! The camp is located far to the west, so is quieter than the central Serengeti area - the first night the place was ours. Simon, the manager, was wonderful, helpful, but not overbearing. Helped us to plan the rest of our trip, and we really felt well taken care of. Our wait staff - Stefano and the ladies, were great - really helpful, understood dietary and timing preferences, and were just lovely.

The tents are perfect - the layout is great, clean, bug-free, and old-timey charming. Don't laugh when they show you the panic button - you may need it! Because the camp is not fenced, the wild comes to visit regularly (giraffe, elephants, monkeys, antelope all range nearby, if not in the camp itself), but be warned! The second night we were there, a pride of lions came through the camp - a male behind the dining tent, and lioness in front of us - not 20 metres from where we were on our dessert course. It was a bit scary, but thanks to the GardaWorld guards and camp management, we were fine, and it proved a major highlight to our whole trip. I won't forget that visit!

We visited the pool but didn't go in - it's in a beautiful setting. We mostly took advantage of the normally serene environment, birdwatching, comfortable setting, and excellent, made to order food. I would go again 150%!

Excellent service and staff, beautiful views

We enjoyed the two night stay here. This is a luxury lodge. The views are incredible. Get a tent with a view. Christina and Victor are amazing and were so attentive to our needs. We appreciate all their help. The food is absolutely fantastic. Sigfried the chef is awesome. The rooms are comfortable. There are bugs everywhere but they provide a spray. They spray the room as well. They have a bar as well. You can have morning breakfast on the porch and see views of the balloons.

Glamping at its best

A beautiful setting overlooking the Western Cooridor, this tented lodge is glamping at its best. Each tent is on a raised platform providing privacy and a breeze to go with the view of the endless plain. Inside tents have Victorian charm with leather wardrobes, marble & brass bathrooms and 4 poster beds with mosquito nets. The pool also has a view and is set amongst the gardens that give the lodge its very special appeal. Our favorite of the 5 Serena properties we stayed in because it is smaller, more intimate and has special details. Staff are amazingly attentive and welcoming. It’s a bit further afield but absolutely worth it.
