The lake is home to over 300 migratory birds including flamingoes, long-crested eagles and grey-headed kingfisher; our lodge is designed to mimic this extraordinary birdlife, with an architectural motif featuring swooping avian curves and vibrantly coloured wall frescoes depicting the intricacy of bird migratory patterns.
At our lodge, you’ll find everything you need to relax, rejuvenate and discover the singular beauty of the region. Housed in circular two-storey “rondavels”, our accommodation pays homage to tradition, while also offering contemporary perks.

Standard King Room
Spread along the edge of the cliff for the most incredible views, our rooms consist of circular, double-storey, whitewashed “rondavels” (traditional circular buildings with conical thatched roofs), which include their own small veranda.
The interior décor echoes the blue of the lake and the pink of its flamingoes. Behind each bed hangs a spectacular hand-woven rug, while furnishings and fittings reflect traditional Maasai beadwork.
Standard Twin Room

Losimingori Suite
Treat yourself to an exclusive stay in our elegant suite, which overlooks Lake Manyara and Losimingori Mountain. The Losimingori Suite offers a level of sophistication rarely seen in safari lodges.
Decor throughout the accommodation features colour palettes of sky blue and dusky pink, echoing the hues of the lake below.
The spacious bedroom is impeccably appointed with a king-sized double bed with a walk-in mosquito net, sumptuous furnishings, a dressing area and a marble ensuite bathroom.
A separate sitting room provides panoramic views and offers fully stocked mini-bar, a digital multi-channel TV and a direct-dial telephone. The room also boasts a generous balcony overlooking the “vanishing horizon” (infinity) pool. 24-hour room service is available.
The suite is set slightly apart from our other accommodations, and enjoys its own private access.

Bush Dining at Lake Manyara
An immersive dining experience, drawing upon the bounty of our environs and encouraging active participation from our guests. Flamingo Restaurant
Our elegant restaurant is designed to replicate a Maasai boma, with swirling primary colours on textured white walls and traditional beadwork, gourds and leatherwork.
Breakfast is presented buffet-style and features global fare, complemented by the finest Tanzanian coffee and tea.
Our buffet lunch typically includes meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options. Table d'hôte dinner menus feature a salad buffet, soup, an entrée, dessert, cheese and biscuits and tea or coffee.
Our scenic outdoor terrace with awe-inspiring lake views plays host to cultural dance and music performances.

The Bush Breakfast
Begin your day with breakfast in our bush dining area, which is located on the top of the escarpment and boasts panoramic views across the lake.
Just a short stroll from the lodge, a full team of chefs await you with a full English breakfast.
Alternatively, you can take a picnic breakfast in the bush whilst on a game drive.

Sundowners with Escarpment View
In keeping with the 1920s tradition of great sundowners, we offer a selection of sundowner venues, on the escarpment edge and within Lake Manyara National Park.

The Bush Dinner
There are few things as magical as dining beneath the stars in the heart of the African bush. Dine at the edge of the escarpment cliffs with magnificent views of the lake.

The Village Lunch
Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge is a member of the Mbu Cultural Tourism Programme, which is run by the local community. Part of this programme is the village lunch – a unique insight into the daily life of local residents.
Guests enjoy a fascinating stroll around the village in the company of a trained guide, followed by a delicious buffet lunch in a pretty clearing amongst the banana plantations.
