The lake is home to over 300 migratory bird species, including flamingos, long-crested eagles and the grey-headed kingfisher. The lodge is designed to reflect this extraordinary birdlife, with an architectural motif featuring sweeping avian curves and vibrantly colored wall frescoes that depict bird migration patterns.

The interior décor echoes the blue of the lake and the pink hues of its flamingos. Behind each bed hangs a handwoven rug, while the furnishings and fittings reflect the traditional beadwork of the Maasai.

Losimingori Suite
Treat yourself to an exclusive stay in our elegant suite, overlooking Lake Manyara and Losimingori Mountain. Designed for comfort and privacy, the Losimingori Suite offers an elevated safari experience.
The décor features a color palette of sky blue and dusky pink, echoing the hues of the lake below.
The spacious bedroom is beautifully appointed with a king-sized bed, a walk-in mosquito net, refined furnishings, a dressing area and a marble ensuite bathroom.
A separate sitting room enjoys panoramic views and features a fully stocked mini-bar, a digital multi-channel TV and a direct-dial telephone. The suite also includes a generous balcony overlooking the infinity pool, while 24-hour room service is available for added convenience.
Set slightly apart from the other accommodation, the suite enjoys its own private access.

Bush Dining at Lake Manyara

Flamingo Restaurant
Our elegant restaurant is designed to reflect a traditional Maasai boma, with swirling primary colours set against textured white walls, complemented by traditional beadwork, gourds and leatherwork.
Breakfast is served buffet-style and features a selection of international cuisine, complemented by the finest Tanzanian coffee and tea.
Our buffet lunch typically includes meat, poultry, fish, and vegetarian options, while our table d’hôte dinner menu features a salad buffet, soup, an entrée, dessert, cheese and biscuits, and tea or coffee.
The scenic outdoor terrace, overlooking the lake, provides the perfect setting for cultural dance and music performances.

The Bush Breakfast

Sundowners with Escarpment View
In keeping with the 1920s tradition of classic safari sundowners, we offer a selection of venues along the escarpment edge and within Lake Manyara National Park.
Begin with a gentle stroll or drive to your chosen spot, where chairs, lanterns, a campfire and a bush bar with cocktail snacks await. Musical entertainment is also available.

The Bush Dinner
There are few experiences more magical than dining beneath the stars in the heart of the African bush. Here, at the edge of the escarpment cliffs, you are treated to magnificent views of the lake.

The Village Lunch
Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge participates in the community-run Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tourism Programme. As part of this programme, the village lunch offers a unique insight into the daily life of local residents.
