Arriving on the banks of the world-famous Mara River, you will be met by a traditionally clad Maasai warrior who will lead you where countless hippos wallow. Once you reach a clearing, you will be offered a glass of chilled sparkling wine or fresh juice before being shown to your table, which is located in a shady grove immediately alongside the hippo pool. Beneath the trees, you will find a full display of fruit, patisserie and cereals as well as a line of chefs ready to cook eggs, bacon, sausages and chicken to your specification.

Amazing!
A memorable stay. First class staff and visible management. We were fortunate to have a very knowledgeable guide - Reku - and had decided to stay four nights to give us time to see everything. Best decision as we saw the ‘big 5’ and more as well as having plenty of time to learn a little about the landscape. Wilson the manager seems to appear everywhere to ensure all guests are happy and everything is ok. We felt complementary at home and had got to know many of the team over our stay - all second to none. The decor is a little weird but the view & location within the Mara triangle unbeatable.
Erickson deserves all the praise
Erickson, one of the chefs, deserves all of the praise he deserves! I have dietary restrictions and he went out of his way to take care of me. Extremely hospitable!

My experience at Mara Serena Safari Lodge was exceptional. From the time I arrived, Levis greeted me and then John my guide took me on an afternoon safari. Wilson, the GM and the entire staff could not have been more gracious! The Mara never disappoints! I will be back!

We had originally planned to stay for two nights, but due to a last-minute change we had to shorten our trip by a day, so we spent just one night in this beautiful place—yet we enjoyed every single moment. The rooms are very nice. I wouldn’t necessarily call them very spacious, but they are thoughtfully designed and serve their purpose perfectly well. The balcony offers a stunning view of the savannah and truly makes you feel immersed in the surroundings. Personally, I didn’t fully appreciate the "free guests"—the rock hyrax—especially at night when one might be waiting by your doorstep But I suppose that’s nature claiming its place and reminding us whose home this really is! The indoor and outdoor dining and lounging areas are plentiful and gorgeous—very pleasant spaces to relax and unwind. The unique style and design beautifully reflect the outstanding atmosphere and warm hospitality. This place is truly a vacation in and of itself. Our only regret was staying for just one night. Special thanks for the delicious welcome passion drinks! The staff is wonderful, always making sure you’re comfortable and helping you feel both the natural and human warmth throughout your stay. |

???? Mara Serena Safari Lodge – Review We stayed at Mara Serena Safari Lodge during our first visit to the Maasai Mara, and it truly feels like a hidden treasure overlooking the park. The lodge is beautifully designed to blend into its surroundings, with soft, rounded architecture and earthy tones that complement the landscape rather than compete with it. It feels authentic and well thought out. The real highlight, however, is the view. As soon as you walk into reception, you’re greeted with a breathtaking panoramic view across the Mara plains. It’s one of those moments where you naturally stop and take everything in. The same incredible scenery can be enjoyed from many areas of the lodge, including the restaurant and pool. Our room continued the natural theme, with a quirky but comfortable design. The balcony views were fantastic — you can genuinely sit with a drink and look out over the landscape, and we even spotted wildlife in the distance. I’d definitely recommend bringing binoculars if you have them. The room included useful amenities such as a fridge and tea and coffee facilities. The only downside was that it did get quite warm, and although there is a ceiling fan above the bed, it can be slightly noisy at night. The food was plentiful with a good variety of options. There were several curry-style dishes available, and on different evenings the chef prepared fresh meats, fish and pasta. Dining outside while watching weaver birds in the trees added to the atmosphere. The pool area is another standout feature. It overlooks the park, the water is warm, and it’s a lovely place to relax after a long game drive — although do keep an eye out for baboons, who occasionally wander through! One particularly special touch was the visit from local Maasai performers who came to share traditional songs and dances with guests. It added a cultural element to the stay and felt welcoming rather than staged. Overall, Mara Serena Safari Lodge offers an unforgettable setting in the heart of the Maasai Mara. While the rooms can be warm, the views, location and overall experience more than make up for it. We would happily return. |

It was our 12th stay in this fantastic place. Nothing changes, it's still great. Beautiful location and, above all, great staff, led by manager Wilson and his assistant Mary. Whoever wants to experience a great safari should choose Serena Safari Lodge.

A perfect safari experience
Fantastic position in the Mara, v close to an airstrip so no long transfer. Staff so kind and friendly with ready smiles and jambo greetings. Nothing is too much bother. Special shout out to Jacinta, Jose, Festus and Emmanuel our safari driver . We saw every animal we wanted including a leopard. Rooms are amazing with views across the Mara plains. Food delicious and different every day.

Great location, Staff and Service
Mara Serena is a family friendly safari lodge with excellent staff and prime location for game viewing and relaxing. We celebrated a birthday at the lodge and the staff musical tribute was incredible.
Stellar views and hospitality
My wife and I had a great stay here. We’ve stayed at a few different properties in the Mara, but the view from this lodge is truly unmatched. The scenery stretched across the entire property, from our room to the dining area to the main deck, with a stunning view over the savanna. Wilson, the general manager, took great care of us. When he heard that lions had been spotted nearby and knew we hadn’t seen them yet, he personally called our driver to make sure we had the chance. Our waitress, Ann, also went above and beyond, arranging a special fish dinner for us that was excellent. The evening bonfires were a nice touch as well. Highly recommend this lodge for both the views and hospitality.
This was surreal for me
This hotel is amazing, right smack in the center of the park. Had a great experience even though we did not go to the park in peak season. The staff is outstanding and very attractive, especially Wilson, Ann and Jacinta at the dining room. I will be heading back to this place sometime in the near future and would highly recommend going here. Oh and yes the view is great and you are definitely going to see wild animals from here.

I had a great stay at Seren Mara. The accommodation was comfortable and well maintained, and the staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. I’d highly recommend it!

An off the charts safari experience
Our group of twelve friends just spent four wonderful nights/five beautiful days at Mara Serena Safari Lodge. The staff was incredibly service oriented, paying attention to our every need. All of the workers seemed full of joy and happy to help! We went on a total of eight Safaris during our stay. Our guides were amazing with their ability to know the land and the names for all kinds of birds and animals —in multiple languages. We saw the big five, and also the Maasai Mara nine! The experience is one I will never forget, and I have actually been on Safari in East Africa before. This stay was out of this world remarkable! I would highly recommend Mara Serena Safari Lodge to anyone remotely considering it.
Amazing staff and hotel
Everything is amazing here. All the staff are so nice and accommodating. The restaurant staff, Ann, Patricia, Darwin, and Wilkister were all so fantastic and friendly. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They serve you will all their heart and you feel like home.
