Serena Mivumo Reopening Offer

The lodge was amazing, we highly recommend it to everyone who is thinking of staying there. The facilities, the location of the lodge right on the river, and of course the wonderful staff who made sure our time spent there was so memorable. The game drives were fantastic and the river cruising at sunset was so special.

A week after our stay here, it’s still hard to put into words how to sum up our safari with Serena.
From the moment we arrived at the airstrip to the moment were dropped off, Able, our guide, took great care of us. He was highly professional, highly knowledgeable, his tracking abilities are extraordinary and took us on an experience we’ll never forget. It was just the two of us for the 5 days with Able, so it felt very personalised.
We also took an evening and morning boat down the river where we were rewarded with even more incredible experiences! Boatman Zak’s knowledge and spotting skills were also first class.
Back at the river lodge, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and our meals overlooking the river were unforgettable. Our lodge was so spacious and extremely comfortable and we loved the outside shower.
It was the most unforgettable experience.

My wife and I 3 night stay at this wonderful lodge at the beginning of February .
We did have a slight upset at the start of our safari in Selous as our flight landed us on an airstrip outside the park and there was consequently a problem with our park permits.
All was forgotten though as we went on to have 3 days of game viewing with our guide, Richard, who was the most courteous and proficient driver & guide.
The tracks throughout the reserve had all been seriously affected by heavy rainfall prior to our visit & were almost impassible in places, however Richard got us around the routes both expertly & safely.
Our previous safari had been in The Serengeti where game is undoubtedly more plentiful however this reserve trumps it in many ways for it’s scenery & diversity, not forgetting The Rufiji River setting of the lodge, adds real character to the journey.
The lodge cabins sit out on a high bluff overlooking the river where Hippos & Crocodiles reside.
The cabins are really comfortable and the food is very very good.
The staff are all really friendly and approachable and Alex the lodge manager went out of his way to look after us.
All in all , a great way to see The Selous area
