Safari Itinerary

Day 1– Arusha to Ngorongoro

 

08:00hrs You will be picked up at your hotel in Arusha by your dedicated Safari Driver Guide and drive to The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, climbing to the altitude of 8,000 feet. You continue to ascend to the exterior of the crater reaching its rim and here your first glimpse of what has often been referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the World.” 

 

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, built onto the rim of this amazing natural phenomenon, a stunning plant and local creeper covered stone lodge where guests co-exist in perfect harmony with the surrounding natural environment and wildlife.

 

Lunch in the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure.

Day 2– Ngorongoro Conservation Area

 

Breakfast in the lodge and descend to the floor of the crater for a day of game viewing drives! The Ngorongoro crater is so spectacular, a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino. It is also a conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe. 

 

As the sun sets on the western side of the crater rim, ascend and drive back to the lodge to refresh for dinner.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro to Serengeti

 

After breakfast depart and drive to Serengeti National Park a brief stop at the Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai Gorge, the 'Cradle of Mankind' is world famous for the Archaeological discoveries made there by Doctor Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey.

 

Drive on to Central Serengeti Lunch at Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp.  An Elegant and Exclusive Serengeti Safari Camp Guarded by three-million-year-old granite towers in the magnificent Serengeti National Park, Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp offers the quintessential African Safari experience. The camp is located on one of the main annual migration corridors for over one million wildebeest, half a million zebras and gazelles and their accompanying cast of predators; it also offers close proximity to lions, giraffes, hippos and all of the other fascinating wildlife that inhabits this 14,763 square-kilometer park.

 

Lunch in the camp followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the magnificent views of the endless savannahs!

 

16:00hrs depart for a game viewing drive before returning to the lodge in time early evening.

Day 4 –  Serengeti National Park

 

Full day in Serengeti National park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the Park, apart from the Selous, this is the largest of all the Parks in Tanzania, summed up as 'one of the most unique areas in the world'. The Serengeti contains the largest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world. 

 

Even during the height of the migration towards the Masai Mara, there is a huge concentration of plains game in the Reserve, mainly concentrated around the watering places, and with good chances also of seeing the predators at work.

Day 5 – Fly Serengeti to Arusha

 

Early morning departure after breakfast and drive to Seronera Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Arusha Airport.  You will be met by our representative and transfer to Arusha Serena Hotel.

 

Later you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your homebound flight.
