What a wonderful stay!

What a wonderful stay! I loved the ambience and old Lamu style of the hotel as I have been to Lamu just two months ago before visiting Kenya again. The most friendly and helpful staff. Hakuna matata! and you will be very satisfied as the service can be a bit slow. The spa was amazing with wonderful staff and great facilities. The gym is also good. Waking up early is the best to see the ocean from your room. The monkeys were a fun thing… I slept with my deck door open as I figured the monkeys also sleep at night. Don't try this during the day. I highly recommend this hotel but keep an open mind as' it is Africa' and things can and do go wrong.

Mixing Business & Leisure

Lovely serene locations, ideal for a holiday as there is low noise, polite professional staff. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The place provides good value for the money. Amenities that cater for the whole family including sports (water sports, tennis, gym).

We had a wonderful time at Serena

We had a wonderful time at Serena. Serena is beautiful as always, staff are amazingly friendly and passionate to bring happiness to their guests. The only downside was the rooms are a little outdated and facing the ocean make them very damp, but I guess that’s part of the weather here in Mombasa. Everything else was perfect and we really enjoyed our time here. They really went out of their way to create unforgettable memories for us, which was completely unexpected and a surprise for us. The restaurant hostess Rosemary and our waiter Mikky prepared such a sweet and romantic breakfast by the sea for us to celebrate our honeymoon, which really made our day. They’re into every detail to ensure this lovely experience, thank you so much :) Our flight also got cancelled on the day we checkout due to an industry-wide strike, Romano and Anne from the reception and guest relations helped us to navigate quickly through the chaos and quickly secured another flight that works for our travel plan, which we wouldn’t be able to do without all the local information and knowledge. Thank you for ensuring us a smooth travel, and helping with something that’s outside your responsibility. I lived in Mombasa 23 years ago and Serena was part of my childhood experience where we sometimes came for a drink/meal and enjoy the lovely views. This time staying for our honeymoon makes it even more meaningful and special. Thanks Serena for treating us well, we’ll be back :)

Relaxing & Comfortable Stay

The hotel was amazing and the staff was brilliant. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our massages at the spa. It was a very relaxing stay and we would definitely recommend the Serena Hotel.

Hospitality at its best

We were there for a team retreat as AWARD. I want to commend the Serena staff from Front Office specifically Epinas and Romano, F&B/Waiting Staff Sylvester, Nicole, Lucy, Ali to name but a few - but with every turn, one is met with warm smiles and an eagerness to help. Of course commendations to the chef from day 1 as we requested an early dinner on the 10th - It was a very good experience. Donald-

Lovely Calmer Resort

Positive: Lovely calmer resort outside the scope of large travel agencies (which I liked). Beautiful beach garden with enough sunbeds, good food. Calmer place with no noisy shows. Each and every member of the staff is extremely obliging, friendly and attentive. Comfy beds, working Wi-Fi, a gym and excellent massages.

Beautiful beach side resort

Beautiful beach side resort in beautiful Mombasa. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurants on property are top tier with food selection. The view from your room is amazing and I love how the local wildlife comes up to the patio. Keep an eye out for the cute monkeys that roam property, they will try to party with you. I love Serena resorts, they never disappoint.

Post Cruise Oasis

We were introduced to Serena through Crystal Cruises. We needed a great resort for the weekend as we made our way to Nairobi for a post cruise safari on Monday. Anyway, great resort and it exceeded our expectations. The property is beautiful. Beach is stunning. Rooms are clean, modern yet architecture is colonial…. We felt like we’re in a Hallmark Movie at times! Ha. Food was very good and the dollar went a long way… Mombasa airport is about 1 hour away… We used Uber to go to airport today and it was US$17 plus tip. Big thanks to the staff…. Peter, Albert, Sylvester and Headlam. They are long term employees. It shows.

My family and I had a great time here.

My family and I had a great time here. The service from the staff was exceptional. They were always happy to help. The half board option went a long way. The food was amazing and the chef was always ready to tend to a family members special diet. The children emjoyed the kids club. My stay here will definitely be one to remember
