Natural History Museum - Kigali Serena Hotel

Step into Rwanda’s past at the Natural History Museum, known locally as Kandt House. Once home to German explorer Dr. Richard Kandt.Tthe museum showcases Rwanda’s rich natural heritage and tells the story of his 1897 expedition to trace the source of the Nile. Exhibits include expedition artifacts and a historic ship sunk in Lake Kivu during World War I.

Opening Hours: Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On Umuganda (last Saturday of each month), open from 12:00 p.m.
Closed on 7th April.
