Safari Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival Nairobi
Met on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our Representative and transfer to Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Enjoy the hotel facilities that include the celebrated Maisha Spa & Health Club.
Day 2 – Drive to Soysambu Conservancy, Lake Elmenteita
After breakfast at the Hotel, check-out, and drive to Soysambu Wildlife conservancy. Enjoy magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment enroute to arrive in the early afternoon for check-in and lunch.
Afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy a swim in the camp’s heated pool overlooking the lake.
Other optional activities available in the camp include Water Colour painting, Recurve Target Archery activities, Jogging / Walking, Horse riding, Sundowners, swimming, among others.
16:00hrs enjoy game viewing drives in the conservancy.
This evening enjoy a Sundowner Cocktail up the cliff overlooking the lake and from where you can see the pelicans and flamingos from a vantage point. Buffaloes also love to graze along the lake shore below.
Day 3 – Lake Elmenteita to Masai Mara
After breakfast in the camp, depart and drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve to arrive at the lodge, Mara Serena Safari Lodge in the early afternoon for check-in.
Lunch in the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities that include Maisha Health Club and Spa featuring an exciting spa menu, steam, sauna and gymnasium to experience tranquillity and good health whilst on safari, a swimming pool and a terrace that gives you sweeping views of the of the expansive Masai Mara plains.
16:00hrs Depart for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
18:00hrs Return to the lodge to refresh for dinner.
Day 4 – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Full day in the Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives daily in the Reserve.
Hippo Pool Breakfast
This morning, crown your game viewing experience with a Bush Breakfast by the Mara River Hippo Pools! One cannot resist the charming “Jambo” from the chefs and Masai warriors as they welcome you to our wonderfully set breakfast buffet of cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and hot dishes with eggs made to your specifications as you wait. The hippos keep you company and only say “Kwaheri” (goodbye) after you have had enough.
Oringa Massage
Enjoy a 60-minute massage of long strokes, rolling stick, pressure points and gentle stretching techniques are applied using a Masai Oringa stick. (Oringa is a significant Masai stick for protection and hunting)
Day 5 – Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
Early breakfast in the lodge and drive to the Kenya/Tanzania border town of Isebania/Sirare for Immigration and Customs clearance.
After the cross-border formalities, meet with your Tanzania driver guides for vehicle exchange and onward drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park to arrive at your camp, Kirawira Serena Camp for check-in and lunch.
16:00hrs depart for an afternoon game viewing drive before returning to the camp in time early evening.
Day 6 – Serengeti National Park
Full day in Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive in the park.
Day 7 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation
After breakfast in the camp, drive to Ngorongoro with a brief stop at the Olduvai Gorge.
Olduvai Gorge the 'Crater of Mankind' is world famous for the Archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey. Drive on to the altitude of 8,000 feet as you ascend to the exterior of the crater reaching its rim and here your first glimpse of what has often been referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the World.”
Lunch in the lodge followed by an afternoon at leisure.
Day 8 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Crater tour
After breakfast descend to the floor of the crater for game viewing drives.
Often described as the ‘Eighth’ wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro crater is so spectacular, a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the black rhino. It is also a conservation area inhabited by the Masai tribe.
Picnic lunch will be served at one of the designated picnic sites on the crater floor.
As the sun sets on the western side of the crater rim, ascend and drive to the Lodge to arrive in time to refresh for dinner.
Day 9 – Ngorongoro to Arusha & Departure
Breakfast in the lodge and drive to Arusha town to arrive in the early afternoon for lunch at Arusha Serena Hotel.
Later transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your homebound flight.
